Ayurveda heisst soviel wie "das Wissen vom Leben":
Ayus = Leben, Veda = das Wissen.

Es ist wahrscheinlich das älteste Heilsystem der Welt, das heute noch angewendet wird. Ayurveda basiert auf ganzheitlichem Denken. Der Mensch wird als Einheit betrachtet, d.h., Körper und Seele sind Eins und sind untrennbar verbunden mit der Natur und der ganzen Umgebung.
